Cuphead is vanaf vandaag ook beschikbaar op de PlayStation 4 met een prijskaartje van €19,99.
De 2D-game die werd gekozen als beste indiegame van 2017 was een tijd lang alleen speelbaar op de Xbox One en PC. Daarna verscheen het ook op de Nintendo Switch, maar omdat deze game zo werd ondersteund door Microsoft, leek een PS4 lancering niet te komen. Goed nieuws dus voor PS4-bezitters, want vanaf vandaag kan ook jij genieten van deze game met een nostalgisch art design. De gehele game is met de hand getekend op papier en vervolgens verwerkt op een computer. Alle animaties die je dus ziet zijn allemaal door twee personen met de hand getekend.

Many of us on the team grew up exploring the worlds of classic PlayStation titles, from Resident Evil to Vandal Hearts. It’s surreal to think about players adventuring through the Inkwell Isles with a PlayStation controller in hand. We’re also hugely thankful to the wonderful team at Xbox, who continue to empower us to bring our game and our story to new audiences.
Voor de mensen op andere platforms die al aan de slag konden met Cuphead is er minder goed nieuws. De uitbreiding genaamd The Delicious Last Course, die meer dan een jaar geleden werd aangekondigd, lijkt uitgesteld te zijn wegens het coronavirus.

This year kind of just threw everyone for a loop, and we’re still working hard on the downloadable content. In true Cuphead fashion, it’s taking us a little longer than we thought, but we want to make it a memorable experience. And to be honest, I think that we ultimately probably announced it a little bit too early based on when we actually put pencil to paper. But at the end of the day, we want it to be a fulfilling experience and live up to Cuphead, and it will come out when it’s ready.
