Marvel’s Avengers verschijnt aanstaande vrijdag, maar ontwikkelaars Crystal Dynamics en Eidos Montreal, hebben al post launch plannen bekendgemaakt.
DLC-personages in Marvel’s Avengers worden allemaal gratis. De eerste die na launch gaat verschijnen is niemand minder dan Kate Bishop, ook wel bekend als de vrouwelijke Hawkeye. Kate Bishop zal in oktober aan de game toegevoegd worden en krijgt haar eigen missies en een eigen verhaal. De voice-over van Kate Bishop wordt gedaan door Ashley Burch, de stem van Aloy uit Horizon Zero Dawn.
De mannelijke Hawkeye genaamd Clint Barton, zal ook aan Marvel’s Avengers toegevoegd worden, maar dan in de maand november. Beide karakters zijn uniek in gameplay, achtergrondverhaal en persoonlijkheid.
Verder zijn er vier High Level missies aangekondigd voor spelers die level 150 bereiken. Deze missies zijn extreem uitdagend maar geven heel veel vette beloningen. De missies zijn als volgt:
- Villain Sectors – Villain Sectors are special missions that provide epic showdowns with powerful bosses that players will want to return to as their Heroes get closer to the game’s power-level cap of 150.
- SHIELD Vaults – SHIELD Vaults are treasure troves of resources, gear, and secrets that must be discovered and unlocked.
- AIM’s Secret Lab – Players looking to test their mettle will look forward to teaming up with three friends to tackle AIM’s Secret Lab, a mission only accessible after reaching the game’s highest power levels. Available once a week, the AIM Secret Lab raid will culminate in a massive boss fight influenced by how well players’ teams performed throughout the mission.
- Mega Hives – Mega Hives will put players’ full Super Hero roster to the test as they fight their way through a gauntlet of descending floors packed with enemies. The farther they go down, the higher the difficulty goes up, and once all their Heroes are defeated, players will have to start over from the very beginning.
Marvel’s Avengers staat gepland voor een release op 4 september 2020 voor de PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC en Google Stadia. Wanneer de next-gen consoles verschijnen, is de game ook verkrijgbaar voor de PlayStation 5 en Xbox Series X.
