Sony Interactive Entertainment gaat samenwerken met Discord. Sony heeft hiervoor een minderheidsinvestering in Discord gemaakt.
Dat deze aankondiging nu wordt gedaan is bijzonder, want tot voor kort wilde concurrent Microsoft, Discord overnemen voor een bedrag van 10 miljard dollar. Sony zegt niet op welke manier Discord zal worden gebruikt voor PlayStation-producten.
Discord is een chatplatform waar mensen in groepen kunnen chatten en (video)bellen. Discord is met name populair bij gamers die multiplayer-games samen willen spelen.
PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan over de samenwerking met Discord:
