Ontwikkelaar Sledgehammer Games is erin geslaagd om met on-demand texture streaming technologie, de totale bestandsgrootte met 30 tot 50% te verkleinen, afhankelijk van het platform waar je op speelt. De precieze bestaansgroottes zijn nog niet bekend.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is vanaf 5 november 2021 verkrijgbaar voor de PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X en de Xbox Series S. Wie de game koopt op een PS4 of Xbox one, kan upgraden naar de next-gen-versie voor €9,99.
