Ilkka Villi en Matthew Poretta keren terug als hoofdpersoon Alan Wake. Villi is het model van Alan Wake, terwijl Poretta de zorgt voor de stem. Lake vertelt dat Alan Wake 2 in een third-person perspectief speelbaar gaat zijn.
Alan Wake 2 werd tijdens The Game Awards 2021 aangekondigd. De game komt in 2023 uit op de next-gen consoles en op de PC via de Epic Games Store.
