Uitgever THQ Nordic heeft bekendgemaakt dat de game Alone in the Dark wordt uitgesteld naar 2024.
De game stond gepland voor lancering op 25 oktober 2023, maar wegens de enorme drukte in de maanden oktober en november, heeft THQ Nordic besloten om de game later uit te brengen. Het gaat dus niet om een uitstel omdat de game niet af is, maar een strategische beslissing. De nieuwe releasedatum is 16 januari 2024.
Oktober heeft behoorlijk veel game releases waaronder Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Forza Motorsport, Lords of the Fallen, Assasin’s Creed Mirage, Super Mario Bros. Wonder en meer. Door je game daarnaast te zetten, zorg je voor minder sterke verkoopcijfers. Januari 2024 is op dit moment vrij leeg en daarom een slimme strategische keuze van THQ Nordic om de reboot van Alone in the Dark dan uit te brengen.

- A classic horror experience, featuring combat, puzzle, exploration, and story.
- While presenting a completely original story, we incorporate characters, places, and themes from the 90s original trilogy.
- Play as Edward or Emily and uncover Derceto’s mysteries from two perspectives, including completely different cutscenes and levels.
- Set in the gothic American south in the 1920s, the game features a noir-setting with classical Lovecraftian horror elements, where the familiar meets the surreal.
- Experience a deep psychological story that goes beyond the realms of the imaginable, by Mikael Hedberg, cult horror writer of SOMA and Amnesia.
- Trapped inside the gothic mansion, you encounter mind bending anomalies and fight back the evil that has infiltrated the house…
Alone in the Dark is vanaf 16 januari 2024 verkrijgbaar op de PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X en de PlayStation 5. Fans kunnen nu aan de slag met een gratis proloog. Deze draait om de eerste weken van de game.
