Amazon investeert meer in het maken van videogames en opent de eerste studio in Europa genaamd Amazon Bucharest, gevestigd in Roemenië.
Amazon heeft meerdere gaming studio’s zoals Amazon Orange County, Montreal, San Diego en Seattle, maar Amazon Bucharest wordt de eerste studio van de gigant gevestigd in Europa. Mogelijk komen er in de nabije toekomst meer studio’s in Europa.
Aan het roer van Amazon Bucharest komt Cristian Pana te staan. Pana was de managing director bij Ubisoft Bucharest en heeft meer dan 20 jaar ervaring met het maken van videogames. Pana heeft onder andere gewerkt aan de games Far Cry, The Division en Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Het is niet bekend wat de eerste game van Amazon Bucharest gaat worden of wanneer deze ongeveer moet verschijnen. Amazon is ook bezig met het uitgeven van games. Zo wordt de volgende Tomb Raider-game van Crystal Dynamics uitgegeven door Amazon.
