Begin dit jaar vertrokken enkele lead developers van Playground Games, de studio achter Forza Horizon en de aankomende Fable reboot. Deze mensen zijn een nieuwe studio begonnen genaamd Maverick Games en de eerste game wordt een open wereld racegame.
Dat is niet verrassend, aangezien deze mensen behoorlijk veel ervaring hebben opgedaan met het maken van de verschillende Forza Horizon open wereld racegames. Maverick Games heeft nu een partner gevonden die deze game gaat uitgeven namelijk Amazon Games. Wanneer het zover is, gaat Amazon deze game uitbrengen in de winkelrekken en de marketing doen. Deze game moet uitkomen op de PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X en de PlayStation 5.
Maverick Games bevat veel ervaren ontwikkelaars. Op dit moment zijn er 62 werknemers. De opvallende namen zijn onder andere: Executive producer Tom Butcher (Forza Horizon Series, F1 All-Stars), CTO Matt Craven (Forza Horizon Series, GRID, DIRT), content director Gareth Harwood (Forza Horizon Series, Fable reboot), audio director Fraser Strachan (Forza Horizon Series), art director Ben Penrose (Forza Horizon Series, Fable reboot) and Visual Design Director Elly Marshall (Forza Horizon 3, Just Cause 3, DIRT).

Their vision for this game is fresh and innovative, and we’re looking forward to working alongside them to bring it to players around the world.”
