Amazon Games, Embracer Group en Middle Earth Enterprises hebben een akkoord bereikt voor een ambitieuze nieuwe game in het Lord of the Rings-universum.
De studio achter de Amazon-game New World, krijgt de taak een The Lord of the Rings MMO te maken. De game is nog maar net begonnen met ontwikkeling, dus de release zal nog enkele jaren van ons verwijderd zijn. Wel is Amazon van plan om deze game niet alleen op de PC uit te brengen, maar ook op de consoles.
“We’re committed to bringing players high-quality games, whether through original IPs or long-beloved ones like The Lord of the Rings,” said Amazon Games vice president Christoph Hartmann in a statement.
“Bringing players a fresh take on The Lord of the Rings has long been an aspiration for our team, and we’re honored and grateful that Middle-earth Enterprises is entrusting us with this iconic world. We’re also pleased to be expanding our relationship with Embracer Group following our Tomb Raider deal last year, as they’ve proven to be excellent collaborators.”
