Ontwikkelaar Oxide Interactive heeft bijna 10 minuten aan nieuwe gameplay getoond van de strategiegame Ara: History Untold tijdens de Xbox Developer Direct-presentatie van afgelopen avond. Oxide Interactive bestaat uit ervaren strategiegame-ontwikkelaars die in het verleden hebben gewerkt aan games als Civilization en Singularity.
Nieuwe details zijn gedeeld over de game, maar ook veranderingen van wat we gewend zijn van dit genre in games als Civilization bijvoorbeeld. Zo worden beurten in Ara: History Untold, tegelijk gespeeld. De wereld wordt veel levendiger en de speler krijgt veel meer opties om een eigen richting op te gaan. Zo kan je gaan voor oorlog, voor technologie of focussen op het ontwikkelen van iets heel anders. Ara heeft een zogeheten Prestige System. Deze laat je zien hoe goed je het doet tegenover jouw volk en voorziet je van Prestige Points. Deze heb je nodig om een wedstrijd te kunnen winnen.

Ara: History Untold staat gepland voor lancering tegen het einde van 2024 voor de PC via de Microsoft Store en Steam. De game wordt vanaf de dag van release ook speelbaar voor leden van Xbox Game Pass op de PC. Een console-port is op dit moment nog onzeker.
