Blizzard slaat de E3 iedere jaar over maar was wel altijd aanwezig op de grootste games-beurs van Europa namelijk de Gamescom. Blizzard laat nu in een bericht op de officiële website weten dit jaar niet deel te gaan nemen aan de Gamescom, die op 20 augustus 2019 zal plaatsvinden.
Hierbij wordt er verteld dat er gefocust zal worden op de ontwikkeling van de huidige games en de toekomstige projecten. Wel zal je Blizzard gerelateerde goodies en games kunnen kopen bij de beurs zelf.
Blizzard kondigde op de Gamescom vaak updates voor bestaande games waaronder World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Starcraft II en Diablo III. Meestal werden aankondigingen gedaan met prachtige CGI trailers.
As part of a renewed effort this year to maintain our focus on development, for our current games and our future projects, we won’t have a booth at gamescom 2019. The show is an important one for the European and global gaming community, and we’re going to miss meeting players in Cologne this year. You’ll still be able to find Blizzard gear in the gamescom 2019 shop area, and we’re looking forward to returning to the gamescom show floor in the future. We’re also looking forward to sharing more details about the projects we’re currently working on when the time is right.
Wees niet getreurd als je Blizzard zal missen op Gamescom. Op 1 en 2 november 2019 organiseert Blizzard het jaarlijkse BlizzCon evenement. Hierbij zullen ze genoeg te vertellen hebben.
