Brad Sams, bekende journalist van BWWMediaGroup zegt dat de games industrie in de nabije toekomst helemaal kan veranderen, want meerdere overnames zijn heel goed mogelijk.
Volgens Sams zijn met name Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Sony en EA op dit moment serieus naar mogelijke overnames aan het kijken. EA is er recent in geslaagd om Codemasters over te nemen voor 1.2 miljard dollar. Microsoft staat op het punt om uitgever Bethesda over te nemen voor 7.5 miljard dollar.
Volgens Sams zijn deze vijf giganten actief bezig met het zoeken naar studio’s die van waarde kunnen zijn.

It’s hard to see which companies are going to get snatched up and by what vendors… but I can tell you there are some big industry names out there being approached by Microsoft included, but then you also have Amazon, and you also have Google.
Sony is part of the conversation, but it doesn’t seem to be as much as Google and Amazon are when Microsoft enters the fold. You also have EA: look what happened with Codemasters for example.
