Paradox Interactive meldt dat de console-versie van Cities Skylines II dit jaar niet meer uitkomt.
Cities Skylines II stond gepland voor een release op 24 oktober voor de consoles en de PC. Dat wordt niet meer gehaald, althans voor de console versie. De PC-versie van Cities Skylines II komt wel gewoon uit op de geplande releasedatum van 24 oktober 2023. De console-versie van Cities Skylines 2 wordt verschoven naar 2024 zodat de ontwikkelaar meer tijd heeft om de game net zo goed te maken als de PC-versie. Verder zijn voor de PC-versie van Cities Skylines II, de aanbevolen specificaties gewijzigd naar een i5-12600K of Ryzen 7 5800X, een RTX 3080 of vergelijkbare AMD-variant en 16GB RAM-geheugen.

Hello City Building Enthusiasts!
We are sharing an update with you on the upcoming launch of Cities: Skylines II.
We are hard at work preparing the game for our release on October 24th. While doing so, we have realized that we need more time to reach the quality targets we have set for Console. As we want to provide the best experience for our players, we are updating the release window for Xbox and PS5 to Spring 2024.
The additional time allows us to focus on matching the quality and performance across all platforms.
We’ll share more updates on the console release window soon.
As work on optimization continues, we’re also updating the minimum and recommended PC specs.

Cities Skylines II verschijnt op 24 oktober 2023 voor de PC. In 2024 komt de game ook uit op de Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X en de PlayStation 5. De game is vanaf de dag van release ook speelbaar voor leden van Xbox Game Pass.
