Uitgever Team17 en ontwikkelaar Catchweight Studio hebben een gameplay trailer uitgebracht van de Eerste Wereldoorlog survival horrorgame Conscript.
Conscript is een survival horrorgame wat zich afspeelt in het jaar 1916. Jij staat in de schoenen van een Franse soldaat die zoekt naar zijn vermiste broer tijdens het gevecht voor Verdun. Wanneer hel losbreekt moet jij proberen om je broer te vinden en hem veilig naar huis te brengen.
De ontwikkelaar beschrijft de key features van Conscript met drie woorden namelijk plannen, overleven en ontdekken:

- Experience classic and methodical survival horror gameplay in a unique historical setting: the Battle of Verdun.
- Highly re-playable with various difficulty settings, multiple endings, unlockable costumes and bonus weapons.
- Survive
- Fend off a variety of enemy soldiers and combatants with a variety of World War I melee weapons and firearms.
- Survive in an intense, harrowing atmosphere boosted by a unique pixel art aesthetic and oppressive sound design.
- Explore
- Navigate intricate level design that promotes item management and route planning, whilst solving complex environmental puzzles.
- Distinct World War I-themed areas that intertwine and overlap.
“With CONSCRIPT, I aimed to immerse players in the grim reality of World War I while delivering the tense, gripping gameplay that survival horror fans know and love,” said Catchweight Studio founder and solo developer Jordan Mochi in a press release. “I can’t wait to bring this experience to both PC and console players later this year and am especially excited to see the game on the shelves.”
Conscript staat gepland voor lancering in 2024 voor de PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch en de PC via Steam, Epic Games Store en GoG. Een gratis demo van conscript is vanaf 10 juni 2024 speelbaar op de PC. Spelers kunnen dan een gedeelte van de game uitproberen zonder kosten.
