In een Xbox Showcase Deep Dives livestream hebben Microsoft en ontwikkelaar Oxide Interactive uitgebreide gameplaybeelden getoond van de strategiegame Ara: History Untold. Er is een lange interview gehouden met de ontwikkelaars en de releasedatum is nu bekend.
Ara: History Untold is het beste te vergelijken met de populaire Civilization games van Take-Two. Dat is geen verrassing, want Oxide Interactive bestaat uit ervaren strategiegame-ontwikkelaars die in het verleden hebben gewerkt aan games zoals Civilization en Singularity. Wel zijn er enkele veranderingen die moeten zorgen voor nieuwe gameplay ervaringen. Zo worden beurten in Ara: History Untold, tegelijk gespeeld. De wereld is verder veel levendiger en de speler krijgt veel meer opties om een eigen richting op te gaan. Zo kan je gaan voor oorlog, voor technologie of focussen op het ontwikkelen van iets heel anders.

Ara: History Untold is nu ook voorzien van een releasedatum. De geanticipeerde strategiegame staat gepland voor 24 september 2024 voor de PC via de Microsoft Store en Steam. De game wordt vanaf de dag van release ook speelbaar voor leden van Xbox Game Pass op de PC. Een console-port is op dit moment nog onzeker.
