Uitgever Bandai Namco en ontwikkelaar Supermassive Games, hebben tijdens de Gamescom Opening Night Live-presentatie, de game Little Nightmares III aangekondigd.
De studio achter de horrorgames The Dark Pictures: Anthology en Until Dawn staat aan het roer van dit project. De vorige ontwikkelaar genaamd Tasier had al aangegeven klaar te zijn met de franchise.
In Little Nightmares III speel je als nieuwe hoofdpersonen Low of als Alone. De game kan volledig gespeeld worden in online co-op of solo waarbij de computer het tweede personage bestuurd. Of lokaar co-op ondersteund wordt is op dit moment niet bekend.
In Little Nightmares III zit je vast in The Spiral, een cluster van verontrustende plaatsen waar je moet zien te ontsnappen door puzzels op te lossen en vooral niet gepakt te worden. Er zijn alleen in de onthullingstrailer al veel angstaanjagende wezens te zien waaronder een gigantische baby.

- Face Your Childhood Fears Together – Choose from two brand-new characters, each equipped with their own iconic items. Play solo with an AI or with your friend using online co-op and work together to solve intricate puzzles and defend yourself against smaller enemies .
- Navigate Through a Brand-New World of Delusions – Embark on an adventure through the Spiral, a cluster of dystopian lands. Discover places as diverse as the mysterious desert of Necropolis, an unsettling fun fair, a gloomy factory, and who knows what else. Run away from a new cast of foes ranging from ominous beetles to a giant baby, and so many more.
- Follow the Journey of Low and Alone – Meet Low and Alone and learn more about the boy in the raven mask and the girl with pigtails. Guide the two friends through a menacing world as they search for a way out of the Nowhere.
Little Nightmares III verschijnt in 2024 voor de PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch en de PC via Steam.
