Sony Interactive Entertainment heeft vandaag dan eindelijk de prijzen en releasedatum bekendgemaakt van de PlayStation 5 en de PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.
Beide consoles komen in Amerika en Japan op 12 november uit. Wij Europeanen moeten een weekje langer wachten, want wij kunnen vanaf 19 november met de consoles aan de slag. Dat is dus 9 dagen na de release van de Xbox Series X en de Xbox Series S.
De PlayStation 5 met disc lade krijgt een prijskaartje van €499,99 terwijl de PlayStation 5 Digital Edition een vraagprijs krijgt van €399,99. Beide consoles zijn identiek wat betreft specificaties, alleen is er geen Blu-ray drive in de PS5 Digital Edition.
PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan heeft het volgende gezegd over de lancering van de PlayStation 5:
Since we first announced our next generation console last year, we have received astounding support from developers and gaming fans all around the world, and it’s truly humbling. Now we are just a couple of months away from launching PS5, which will offer a new generation of experiences that go beyond players’ expectations of how games can look, feel, sound, and play. We can’t wait for our fans to experience for themselves the incredible speed, the heightened immersion and the breathtaking games on PS5 when we launch this November
