Na de Xbox Developer Direct-presentatie, kwam Bethesda met een eigen presentatie omtrent de volgende grote uitbreiding voor The Elder Scrolls Online genaamd Gold Road. De onderstaande cinematic trailer werd daar voor het eerst getoond.
De MMO Elder Scrolls Online verscheen in het jaar 2014 en wordt nog altijd massaal gespeeld. Bethesda voorziet de game regelmatig met updates en nieuwe content waardoor er altijd reden is om terug te komen. Bethesda meldt dat er inmiddels 24 miljoen spelers zijn.
De nieuwe uitbreiding heet Gold Road en speelt zich af in de West Weald-regio van Cyrodiil met onder andere de stad Skingrad. Het nieuwe gebied bevat drie regio’s namelijk de bossen van Gold Road, de jungle van Valenwood Annexation en de Colovian Highlands. Spelers gaan hier op avontuur om nieuwe quests te doen en komen in aanmerking met een nieuwe factie genaamd Recollection. Nieuw in de uitbreiding is een Scribing-systeem. Hiermee kunnen spelers zogeheten Grimoires krijgen, nieuwe skills die aan te passen zijn. Volgens Bethesda zorgt dit systeem ervoor dat iedere build te personaliseren wordt.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road verschijnt op 3 juni 2024 op de PC en MacOS. Twee weken later op 18 juni 2024 wordt de uitbreiding ook speelbaar op de PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S en Xbox Series X. De uitbreiding krijgt een prijskaartje van €39,99.
